From Hyde Park Corner tube station follow the sign to Hyde Park and go left up the ramp past the illustrations. Go straight on past the kiosk then turn left and go up the steps. Cross the road bearing right and turn left along the shared path, soon turning right to enter the rose garden. Continue to the cafe then take a left around the lake. turn left and continue back to South Carriage Drive past a playground and kiosk on your left, then enter Park Close.Continue straight over two main roads to reach Brompton Road. Opposite to your right is Harrods, and opposite to your left just around the corner is Harvey Nichols. Turn right, then just before Harrods go left down Hans Crescent. Take first right into Basil Street then Left on Hans Road and right around Hans Place. At the bottom turn right to reach Pont Street. Almost opposite to your left go down Cadogan Street then third right and go left round the square then first left into Milner Street, before taking the second right keeping the green to your left. At the top of the green take the first right then first left into Beauchamp Place. This will take you back onto the main Brompton Road. Turn right then take the second left into Lancelot Place. At the top you will see a path to your left. Follow this keeping straight on past Montpellier Square on your left. At the end turn right down Montpelier Walkthen first right into Rutland Street which you follow round to the left until you hit Cheval Place. Go right and round to the left through the bollards back onto Brompton Road. Turning right here you will pass the end of pretty Brompton Square before reaching thee Brompton Oratory on the right which is worth a visit. Otherwise just before the Oratory turn right along Cottage Place and straight on past the gardens of Holy Trinity Church until you reach Ennismore Gardens Mews. If you go left here, just past the end of the garden on your left you’ll see a path which will lead you up to the corner of Prince’s Gardens. Cross the Gardens to the opposite corner and turn right onto Exhibition Road past the museums. Crossing over the main road Kensington Gore at the top will bring you into West Carriage Drive with Kensington Gardens on your left. Keep going a little way until you see a sign to the Serpentine gallery, going through the park to reach this, then carry on towards the Long Water. Turn left along its bank and you will reach the formal Italian Gardens. This is the end of the walk. If you leave the park and cross the Bayswater Road, a right then first left will bring you to Lancaster Gate tube station.
